Activity 3.3.1 Air Pollution Core Activity

Air Pollution Basics  Sulfur Pollutants: It is a chemical known as Sulfur Dioxide which is considered a toxic gas that is responsible for the smell of burnt matches. It is also known because of the ways that the pollution is produced, which is through the burning of fossil fuels in many power plants and other industrial facilities. And so the outcome of this conflict is that it can effect not only our environment, but as well as our health. Therefore, it is the reason why Sulfur Dioxide is bad for us in general doesn't matter which way it's looked at. Nitrogen Pollutants: Nitrogen pollution is something that can harm us, but mostly through our environments and effect our ways of living. Reason why is because when too much nitrogen is released it can cause a variety of effects. For example, the effects our that when released into the water it can cause things known as Ammonia and Ozone, which are things that can affect us when breathing. Moreover, other examples of thes...

Activity 3.2.3.1 Solar Power and Energy Policy

Exploratory  Based on the reading given by Mary Kelly shows how Georgia has put a tremendous amount of effort into making a large power solar plant farm. Moreover, other states have had their competition in wanting to become the largest solar plant farm in the country at least. However, despite California having the record for having the largest solar plant farm, when regarding Georgia there are different ways on why theirs is interesting. Based on the reading, the owners of the solar plant farms all seem to have the same mindset of wanting to save energy and save natural resources such as coal and other resources that are used up a lot by us. It is believed that by having new and better technology there would be a better outcome to save natural resources and help detain climate change. But, one of the issues given by a farmer named Will Harris states that there are pros and cons to building these sites regardless of whether or not it’s good for the environment. In the artic...

Activity 3.2.3- Alternative Energy - Solar Energy

When talking about alternative energy firs things we thing we think about is renewable energies like solar energy and other stuff involving like wind mills and other renewable energies that help us save more of the planets natural resources such as fossil fuels and coal.  In this blog I'll be referring to how to use alternative energies more specifically solar energy. Regarding solar energy there are many advantages and many disadvantages to using this certain type of energy. Using solar energy helps in a lot of cases that are beneficial to people especially when it comes to their economy. Using solar energy comes with the advantage of having your light bill reduced and it also comes with a low maintenance cost. Moreover, what makes it beneficial for guest as well is that it's an advancement in technology and so it helps regard to see how much light you use up and how much you save on money considering the paying difference between CPS and paying for solar panels. Overall, f...

Clean Coal? Myth or Reality

When talking about coal we automatically think about the power plants and how coal is used to power up those stations. Moreover, when also talking about clean coal we talk about which country has used or how clean is it. Regardless, with the amount of "clean coal" that we've been  getting is it really clean to the point where it's a waste of time? Or is it worth all that energy and use of resources. My argument is that this issue is a reality and far from it being a myth.      When in 2018 President Donald Trump cut the budget of the Office of Fossil Energy it seemed that it was going to get worse for us. And the reason I would say "us" is because the office that their budget was cut was trying to solve a big issue in our world which was to reduce pollution caused from coal. Furthermore, in other cases related to this topic when regarding the outcomes of  'clean coal' it doesn't necessarily help us environmentally. Based off an article poste...
