Activity 5.1- XX Things to do to save the planet

Shubhendu Sharma: How to grow a forest in your backyard  For the video involving the Ted talk with Shubhendu Sharma what he implies to do to help our planet is for all of us to make a habit or a common decency to start engineering soil. Moreover, the point of the video was to get us to start growing more plants and be able to share more of the open environment by growing plants and helping urban animals and other places that don't have or lack the amount of life form in there habitats. Lyla June- Time Traveler  What I understood from this video is that it explains how as natives they'd do anything to protect their environments and show commitment to doing the same things their ancestors did to protect it. Furthermore, I'd say that there's a deeper meaning suggesting that we should do the same and that we should show the compassion for taking care of forests because how long the environments been alive for and because of the history it holds. I feel that the video is say...

Activity 4.2.1- Applying My Environmental Policy Framework

Problem Statement- In this conflict the issue is that hydrofracking is used to do practice by extracting natural gasses or oils taken from geological shell rock formations. Moreover, this practice is important to the environment policy, and with that said it's good to say that it'll be used for a long time. Based on the article given by Cohen it tells us that hydrofracking has been used for decades. Furthermore, this process consists of a lot of things that would help it work smoothly. For example, based on the article it states that the things needed are water, sand, and consists of all of them being injected along with chemicals at high pressures. When talking about how these things are used it shows how it looks like they value what they have to get the outcomes which is oil or natural gasses. Moreover, because of wanting to get more of what they have, it shows that in the article a lot of land is taken because of these actions. In the article it tells us that in 2012 the ...

Activity 2.3.1 Rangers, Anglers and Beavers

Exploratory  Probe basic facts and knowledge found in the video and article. ( What research evidence supports _________?Type up several facts and basic knowledge from the video & article. Relate this to what you find in other resources, prior activities for stronger scores.)) In the article it is shown to explain why these conditions are occurring and how they started. In the article it states how they use an assessment called the “BLM” and is used to evaluate the impairments within the streams and streamside vegetation. Moreover, this is used because of the conditions it’s in, which are caused by wildfires, droughts and historical grazing practices. Furthermore, later in the article it does go to show how they’re solving for some of these conflicts. In the meantime they do have 2 conflicts: The first solution would be to have a one-two punch grazing management, and the second would be a beaver.  Now relating this situation to the video given by Trout unlimited s...

Activity 4.1- US Environmental History and Major Regulations

Image
When talking about our environment it refers a lot to how we should respect it and how we should take care of it. Well to state how it began in an article given by Edmund Russel and Sandy Fairfax they state how when beginning these rules, which we know as laws started back in the 1970's. And when those laws were made they were called "Environmental Laws". Moreover, their conflict was on how to grow it and have the American people be involved in these laws. And with that said in 1972 those who made the laws found out that the American people would be more involved if it became a "trend". The way it became so was with organizations, companies, industries, and other such clubs that became involved in it and grew big for it to be called "The Limits to Growth". When that grew the word about the environmental laws grew as well which was good for those who started it.       However, when this was started in the 1970's it had alre...

Activity 3.3.3.1 Current Event in Plastic Pollution

 1. Exploratory In the article that was read showed and elaborated on how Diane Wilson was with a group of people cleaning a certain part of a beach near Point Comfort, Texas. In her research she discovered that during the event she had seen many plastic objects that had contained a certain chemical, which was a "Raw plastic Powder". Moreover, after she had discovered this she knew who it was, and after having that certain person accused, she had evidence that same boat had loaded about 2,400 pounds of the same sample containing the plastic powder that was found on the curbside of the ocean. Furthermore, it is believed that it was in the shape of a pellet, which she stated were about 46 million pellets that were released into the ocean.  2. Diagnostics After Diane had discovered this incident, she had also discovered who had done it. After investigating her case she found out that recently a boat had carried about 2,400 pounds of what had contained those plastic raw powders. ...

Information of Microplastics  In this blog I'll be explaining the cause and effects of microplastics and how they are harmful to us. Microplastics are small pieces of plastic that can be measured to five millimeters long and can be the outcome of being harmful to our ocean and aquatic life. Based on an article posted by the Ocean National Service tells us that the microplastics can be found in our oceans and in the Great Lakes. Furthermore, later in the article it goes on to explain where they come from and how they get to the ocean. And so, by giving this information is that microplastics are made up of items that are used for health and beauty products  and those kinds of plastics are called Polyethene plastics. Moreover, regarding this issue the way they get to the ocean and other places of aquatic life is that they consist of breaking down and having to be made into microbeads. Once that's done it is then going to plenty of waterways that then can be mistaken for food by m...
